Orangeville City and Huntington City hosted a training for The National Incident Management System. The communities are working on their emergency management goals for this year, in compliance with Homeland Security. Each student who completes the IS-100 test, will receive their certification. The class is held for one night from 6-10 p.m. Cynthia Grant teaches the IS-100 class, along with the Emery County Sheriff's Office. The class will be offered again to surrounding communities in Emery County, in conjunction with CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), taught by Karen Smith, Region 6 CERT Coordinator. The purpose of the training is to help everyone be better prepared for disasters or emergencies.
