Letter to the Editor: MK tunnels closures
It's sad to see that the coverage of these closures did not reflect the outrage and public opinion of these closures. When there was a public meeting on the closure of this site more than a year ago, all of the people in attendance were against the closures. There was no need. Your county commisioners as well as Ray Petersen, all voiced their opinions that the tunnels be left alone. Unfortunately, as is the usual MO of the DOGM, they waited for the dust to settle and then came in and did what they wanted to anyway. They have made it obvious that they do not care what the city or the county wants.
We have been working against these closures so it's disheartening to see such a glib and happy article about the destruction of a site that was like no other in all the world.
