CASTLE DALE-Emma D. Huntington, age 98, passed away peacefully at the Heirloom Inn in Price on April 5, 2009, surrounded by family members. She was born Sept. 27, 1910, in Castle Dale, Utah, to Alfred Dustin Dickson and Emma Elizabeth Jeffs Dickson. She married Stanley Huntington on July 15, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in numerous capacities. She was a wonderful homemaker and a great cook, sharing her culinary skills at countless church and community events. Entertaining family and friends brought her great happiness. Her hobbies included the Utah Jazz, gardening, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and painting. Her favorite gifts to her children and grandchildren were quilts, afghans, and paintings which she lovingly created.

She was employed as secretary for Dr. Benjamin Turman for many years. Later in life she managed the Progressive Market in Huntington and treasured the friendships she developed there. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends were the delight of her life.

She is survived by her children: Peggy (Don) Nielson of Spring Glen, Dickson (Geniel) Huntington and Ross (Adele) Huntington, both of Castle Dale; 14 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Ina Dickson and Ona Dickson Tuttle; a grandson, Dwight Nielson; and a great-granddaughter, Ainsley Call.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Castle Dale Eighth North LDS Church (165 West 800 North, Castle Dale). There will be a viewing Wednesday, April 8, 2009, from 6-8 p.m., at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and on Thursday, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.

The family expresses their thanks and appreciation to the management and staff of the Heirloom Inn and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care.
