The 10th annual Swell Cure for Cabin Fever Poker Ride, sponsored by the SouthEastern Utah Off Highway Vehicle Club was held recently with great attendance by the Emery and Carbon county enthusiasts. Many other attendees came from around the state including the crew from At Your Leisure.

Two hundred thirty five machines registered for the ride. Riders began registering for the ride and collected their first poker card at the desk at 9 a.m.

The weather had been dry and the trails were dusty, but the ride was a much needed break for the doldrums of winter.

Due to the amount of dust on the roads, one injury accident was reported. Following the accident, club members spoke with the Emery County commissioners and road department, and the roads will be well watered next year. The club wishes the injured party a speedy recovery.

Funds raised with the poker ride are used to support the ongoing fight against closing public roads and trails.

The club is now making preparations for the upcoming annual Arapeen Jamboree to be held Sept. 7-11.
