Pirates end baseball season

The Green River baseball team ended their season last Thursday with a double header with Piute. Piute won the first game 4 to 3 and Green River won the second game 5 to 1. If we would have won both games we would have had a three way tie for third place and a 3 game region playoff games to be held in Panquitch against Piute and Valley High Schools Saturday for the right to play Waterford in the Quarter finals on Monday. Green River ended the season with a 9 win 7 loss record.

Gabrin Ekker threw a four hitter in the first game. Kedric Bayles hit two homeruns and went 4 for 4. In the second game Lance Richards threw a one hitter striking out nine and again Kedric Bayles was the big hitter going 2 for 3.

Season scores were:

Green River 9 Salt Lake Lutheran 7 win

Green River 8 Intermountain Christian 7 win

Green River 10 Intermountain Christian 1 win

Green River 2 Wayne 12 loss

Green River 8 Wayne 20 loss

Green River 0 Panquitch 13 loss

Green River 1 Panquitch 2 loss

Green River 13 Escalante 4 Win

Green River 11 Escalante 0 Win

Green River 12 Bryce Valley 2 Win

Green River 7 Valley 2 Win

Green River 2 Valley 3 loss

Green River 0 East Carbon 10 loss

Green River 3 Piute 4 loss

Green River 5 Piute 1 Win

Highlights of the year hitting.

Kedric Bayles hit .537 The last two games he went 6 for 7.

C.J. Vetere hit .414

Gabrin Ekker hit .395

Ren Hatt hit .377

Lance Richards hit .300

highlights of the year pitching.

Lance Richards threw a no hitter against Escalante,and threw a one hitter against Piute, and a three hitter against Panguitch. He faced 122 batters striking out 55 for a strikeout percentage of .407 with an era of 3.00

Gabrin Ekker had two four hit game against Piute and Valley with an era of 2.80.
