The 10 year old All-Star team from Emery just took first place in state and swung their way into the Southwest Pacific Regionals which will be held this year in Beaver beginning on July 27.

The Emery squad will have their first game on July 29. They will play against teams from Guam, Hawaii, Northern, Central and Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Beaver along with a team from Northern Utah.

Emery won the district meet in Carbon where they 10 runned each of their opponents to earn a spot in the state tournament. Teams at this tournament included Emery, Carbon, Wellington and Helper. At the state tournament they only lost one game against Juab, but then they came back to beat Juab in the championship game by a score of 15-5 to win the state tournament and a berth in the Regionals.

Players on the team are: Tel Gardner, Bowdie Jacobson, Dallan Ward, Zac Jorgensen, Logan Labrum, Logen Ewell, Tristan Deabenderfer, Dalton Jeffs, Jordan Baletka, Jed Kofford, Kobe Faimalo and bat boy Gannon Ward. Coaches include: Jason Ward, John Baletka and Danny Deabenderfer.

The team met at the Orangeville fire station on Monday to celebrate. Team photos were taken and then the team boarded the fire station for a celebration ride around the county.

They ended up in Cleveland where they autographed baseballs to celebrate their state championship.

The team is grateful to their sponsors who have helped make their post season play such a success.
