Jesse Ward has worked to bring the Labor Day weekend softball tournament to Emery County. The tournament was held for several years in Price and then went by the wayside, but now it's back. Over Labor Day, 10 teams participated in the tourney. Tram took first place, A Salt Lake team took second and Gunnison came in third place.
Ward said, "We are trying to earn money to fix up the fields at the complex. We will donate the money from the tournament to the Emery Recreation District for the fields at the complex. We would like to keep this tourney going. We also want to do an ice breaker tournament sometime in the spring."
