The Emery County Historical Society met in its December meeting. They had a social for Christmas and also learned about the history of old schools in the county. Dottie Grimes is the archivist for the Emery County Archives. She prepared a slide show which showed a number of schools in the county and told what year they were built and something of the history of each building. Several schools in the county were destroyed by fires over the years. All attendees were given a sheet of paper and they tried to identify the school buildings that were printed out. Several audience members new most of the schools, but there were a few that had everyone stumped. The Emery County Historical Society meets once each month to keep the history of Emery County alive. Grimes ended the evening of fun by reading the book, "Texas Night Before Christmas," written and illustrated by James Rice.
