The year 2009 went out with a bang for the youth of the county as they celebrated the arrival of the new year 2010 at the Emery County Aquatics Center.

The youth participated in swimming and water basketball as well as taking dives off of the diving board. The Governing Youth Council provided games and prizes for the high school age group.

They played bingo as well as other games and even celebrated a birthday along with the new year. Food and drinks were also served in the party room. The party was free to high school age students.

When the midnight hour approached Richard Herring and his Castle Dale Fire Department treated the group to a fireworks show just outside the pool. Many of the group stayed inside and watched the show through the giant side windows at the pool.

Many of the teachers at Emery High were on hand to supervise the teens as they welcomed in 2010 with a big splash.
