Emery County Sheriff LaMar Guymon was injured while investigating a burglary at BKs Stop and Shop on Feb. 8. Sheriff Guymon was called to the store after a break-in was reported at the business by employees.

Sheriff Guymon was exiting the south door of the store just after 5 a.m. when he slipped and fell, hitting the back of his head. Sheriff Guymon lost consciousness for several minutes. An ambulance was requested and he was transported to Castleview Hospital where tests were conducted. The sheriff has a concussion with a small amount of bleeding. He was kept in intensive care for three days for observation and he returned home to Huntington on Thursday.

The sheriff has a large bump on the back of his head and a severe headache, but it appears he will make a full recovery. Doctors instructed him to limit activities and rest for a week.
