Ferron Easter Egg Hunt

5th Annual Basball/Softball Camp

Health career camp
High School students interested in a future health care career are invited to participate in the Health Career Exploration Camp at Southern Utah University. The camp will take place June 7 - 9 and is open to all 9th - 12th grade high school students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Cost for the camp is $100, which includes housing during the camp at The Eccles Living & Learning Center, meals, workshop supplies and a camp t-shirt. Scholarships are available to reduce or waive the cost of camp for individuals who qualify based on household income. Raylon Harr is the three year old child who fell from a second story window on March 4 after pushing a window screen out of its frame.
Raylon has had surgery on his head to remove a blood clot from his brain and to reconstruct his skull.
It truly is a miracle that he is still with us, and that our family can continue to look forward to his growing and learning.
Our family does what we can for each other, however the bills associated with this accident will be more than what we can take care of alone.

Cleveland Spring Expo
The Cleveland Spring Expo will be held on Sat. May 1, 2010 beginning with a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the New Cleveland Fire Station located at 130 West Main. The Ribbon Cutting will be at 9:30 am. The expo will run from 10 am to 8 pm and will include vendors, workshops, crafts, food, prizes and entertainment. Everyone is invited to attend. During the month of March we are celebrating "Return Borrowed Books Week" all month long, by allowing patrons who have overdue fines to clear up their accounts by donating "like new" items to the library.

White Wash Sand Dunes Temporary Filming Closure
The White Wash Sand Dunes open OHV area will be closed for filming for approximately one week in late May, early June 2010. The Ruby Ranch Road, as well as all the other roads and trails in the area will remain open for visitor use. For example, the roads and trails in the Crystal Geyser area will be available for motorized use, and may be used as an alternative to the White Wash Sand Dunes.

Free Resource Makes Applying for Student Financial Aid Easier
Self-guided presentation walks students through the sometimes-confusing financial aid application process. The Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority is very pleased to announce "Navigating the FAFSA," a much-needed new resource to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (commonly called the "FAFSA"). This tool is a self-directed presentation that guides students through topics explaining the purpose of the FAFSA, how to obtain a PIN to sign their FAFSA securely online, what information should be gathered, how to complete the FAFSA, and how to submit it. Easily found on the front page of the UHEAA website, this presentation gives high school counselors and financial aid professionals another tool to help their students. CASA Volunteers Needed
Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children. Utah Valley Cancer Center, located at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center has a new toll-free phone number. Anyone can call 1-866-549-3800 to schedule an appointment, get information about local cancer support groups or to find out more about IHC cancer services and physicians. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Free Wheelchairs to the Disabled
The Wheelchair Foundation, Intermountain Healthcare, and the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation are partnering to distribute free wheelchairs to disabled Utahns. Persons interested in getting a free wheelchair can call 1-877-387-3839, or apply at www.wheelchairfoundation.org/utah
Donations are needed from Emery County residents to the Emery Chapter of the Salvation Army which provides emergency assistance for the people of Emery County as well as people traveling through the area.
