Heather Williams, Orangeville, grew her hair long for one reason. To donate to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is an organization that takes hair donations to make hair pieces for financially disadvantaged children who are suffering from hair loss due to long term medical conditions. Williams thought she might donate again in a couple of years. Kim Edgehouse of Castle Dale had the honors of cutting the ponytail.
Locks of Love accepts donations of ponytails or braids of hair that are not synthetic and has not been chemically damaged. Hair must be clean, dry, at least 10 inches long and placed in a plastic bag. For more information about donations to Locks of Love, log on to the website at www.locksoflove.org.
