Sixth Annual Desert Rocks Music Festival offers music and magic each year, during Memorial Day weekend, The Desert Rocks Music Festival is held at the majestic BFE Ranch, located 10 miles south of Moab. This stellar location for camping and music showcases the breathtaking natural beauty of Utah. The ranch backs up to the La Sal Mountains and boasts its own slot canyon.

This year, May 28-30, Desert Rocks will feature three stages of world-class bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, reggae, hip-hop, funk, and folk music. The music is complemented by engaging local entertainment ranging from fire dancing to aerial trapeze ballet.

Performances and events begin each afternoon and continue until sunrise. Desert Rocks is a family-friendly festival, and children under 12 are free. Festival tickets and VIP passes can be purchased at and include three days of onsite camping with RVs also available for rental.

The initial band lineup includes: Emmett Nershi Band, Jerry Garcia Band, The Motet, The Mother Hips, Groundation, Wisebird, Lynx and Janover, David Gans, and much more.

Beyond providing a vibrant lineup of performers, Desert Rocks Music Festival 2010 offers a healthy dose of adventurous activities. The surrounding landscape affords an abundance of outdoor beauty, attracting travelers from across the globe.

To make the wilderness more accessible to festival-goers, this year marks the addition of Desert Rocks Music Festival Excursions. On-site ticket holders will have the opportunity to sign up for world-class mountain biking, hiking or whitewater rafting on the Colorado River. Additionally, delectable food, creative clothing, jewelry and crafts will be available for purchase from regional artists and vendors.

Desert Rocks also believes it is critical to protect the area's natural beauty and has thus developed a sustainable event. Last year marked the inception of Desert Rocks' Sustainability Program, and these efforts contributed to 45 percent of total waste diversion from landfills.

With the help of dedicated volunteers, an even stronger initiative is developing for 2010. This program will include compost collection, B100 bio-fuel use for all festival power, carbon offsetting, and a solar-powered electronic village. Desert Rocks Music Festival is working hard to protect Mother Earth, ensuring the creation of magical musical memories for decades to come.
