Eldon L. Miller will be turning 80 on Sept. 19. Eldon has five children from his marriage to Carole Jean Gordon, of Hiawatha, who passed away March 15, 1995. The children are Ben Miller, Kathy Castanon, Lory Mattucci, Tim Miller and JJ Birthold. They are all living in Utah.

Miller is a 1959 graduate of Carbon Junior College and the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City. He taught in grades one through eight in California. Upon retirement in 1991, they moved to Helper where he also taught at the Castle Valley Center in Price.

In 1996, Eldon married Arlean Crawford Watts. He has been active and is still active in the Boy Scouts for more than 60 years. He is a past president of the Carbon County Historical Society and is presently serving as the vice president.

Miller has two living sisters in Utah and one brother, Frank Miller, who resides in Wellington. Miller has also lived in eight of Carbon County's communities and in one Emery County town, Clawson City. Eldon will celebrate his birthday with family and friends in Kaysville on Sept. 11. All are welcome to attend.
