CLEVELAND-Our loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Gary Birch, age 57, passed away Aug. 31, 2010 at his home.

He was born Oct. 26, 1952 in Price, Utah to Arthur "Bill" Birch and Erma "Dixie" Cunningham. On Nov. 17, 1972, he married Kathy Nielsen in Huntington, Utah.

Gary was a lifelong resident of Emery County where he was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, Deer Creek Local #1769. He loved being with family and friends, especially we he had the opportunity to spoil the kids.

Gary was an outdoors enthusiast who loved hunting and camping. He enjoyed being the "Camp Chef" and everyone loved his specialty spaghetti.

He was "Uncle Gary" to all that passed his way and his loud friendly growl could brighten anyone's day. Gary will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy of 38 years; son, Ricky; mother, Dixie Birch; siblings, Terri (Blair) Cook, Gloria Neal, Debra (Al) Wilcken, Linda (Marc) Stevens, Evon (Joel) White, Veronica (David) Ames, Jerry (Mindy) Birch; many loving nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Birch; brother, Alan "Audie"; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Morris and Helen Mae Nielsen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Toni Lindsey.

Kathy would like everyone to know she couldn't have made it through these times if it wasn't for her family and friends. Each and every one of you have a special place in her heart and we'll never forget how much you meant to Gary.

Funeral service, Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, 6 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) Price. Family will be at Mitchell's Saturday one hour prior to service. Friends are welcome at Mitchell's daily and may share memories of Gary at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
