The Green River Pirate baseball team needed to win its final two regular season home games to become region 18 champions. Only one team stood in the way of reaching their goal, the Tintic Miners who came into the game sporting a 10 - 3 record. The 9 and 6 Pirates had the Miners on their home field and took them to task.
