Lavon and Marianne Day celebrated their 50th Anniversary August 7, 2014. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple in 1964. They hosted a family gathering in Heber City.

Lavon has worked as a USU Extension Agent, Vice President for American Coal, Real Estate Broker with Mountain Crest Realty, insurance agent, and teacher at Ferron Elementary. Marianne worked with him in the real estate business and on the family farm, in addition to being a wonderful mother to their eight children and 25 grandchildren. She is an expert with quilting, sewing, and canning. Together they have served three missions, two with the LDS Church Real Estate Division, and Cambodia. Their greatest delight is spending time with their family.

They have lived in Roosevelt, Castle Dale, Salt Lake, and Roy. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren, Kerry (Tami), Roy; Kevin (deceased); Daniece (Kyle) Crump, Peoria, Ariz; Allen (Andrea), Fairview; Maleah (Justin) Warner, American Fork; DeVere (Lynda), West Jordan; Kyle, Riverton; and Donnalee (Tucker) Morgan, Elko, Nev.
