Festival of Service
The Community Volunteer Center is hosting the second annual Festival of Service at the Castle Dale Senior Center on Jan. 20 from 6-9 p.m. The Smoke Pit Barbecue will be selling food with profits benefiting the local food bank. There will be a local country band providing music. They will also be highlighting several nonprofit agencies like BACA, United Way, Early Intervention, Community Nursing Services, Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT), American Cancer Society, Desert Edge Soup Kitchen, Emery Care and Rehab, the local Food Bank and others. They are asking folks to bring canned or non perishables to help the local food bank. Funds raised will go to both the local volunteer center and food bank.
The Emery High Wrestling Team is selling Idaho potatoes to raise funds. They come in 40-50 lb. boxes and are being sold for $15/box. Idaho's growing season of warm days and cool nights, ample mountain-fed irrigation and rich volcanic soil, give Idaho Potatoes their unique texture, taste and dependable performance. If you would like a box, please call Doug Mecham at the High School, 435-381-2689, to arrange delivery.
