ld its annual Valentine Carnival on Feb. 8 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Huntington Elementary gym. There will be games, food and fun. Fortune teller, bowling, fish pond, cake walk bake sale, crafts, basketball toss, football throw, stuffed animal game and much more. Everyone welcome. Tickets 10 for $1. Donations are being accepted at the school for stuffed animals and small toys in good condition for prizes at the carnival.
Agriculture producers are invited to attend the second annual Castle Valley Crop School to be held on Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Carbon County Fair Grounds Event Center. There is no cost to attend and a light dinner will be served before the presentations begin and door prizes will be given away. Producers will have the opportunity to explore topics including cover and nurse crops, crop rotation practices, soil testing, compaction and the benefits of aeration, surfactants and buffers, bale moisture management, and Russian olive control in fields and along fence lines. Presentations will be made by Earl Creech, USU Extension Specialist; Ron Patterson, USU Extension Agent; Bruce Wilding, surfactant and buffers expert; and Earl Kennel from Hay Guard. Pesticide License CEU credits will be offered. Price River Watershed Conservation District is presenting the school along with the following sponsors Utah State University Extension, Intermountain Farmers Association, Mason Machinery, Hay Guard, San Rafael and Green River Conservation Districts and Carbon County.
