Under Title IV of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of
1977 (30 U.S.C. 1201 et seq.; SMCRA), the Denver Field Division of the
Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) gives
notice of the availability of a Finding of No Significant Impacts
(FONSI) addressing an environmental assessment (EA) for an abandoned
mine land reclamation project in Grand County, Utah.
This action covers the Sego reclamation project. The project is
located on both private and federal (Bureau of Land Management) lands
and is approximately 35 miles northeast of the town of Green River,
Utah. Specifically, it is located in the W1/2 of Section 27, Township
20S Range 20E in Grand County. The project will address the removal
of abandoned coal waste piles, maintenance of previously closed mines
(addressed on an earlier project) and, reclamation of the disturbance
caused by this project.
