Miss Castle Dale

Savannah Woolsey is Little Miss Castle Dale, Kristine Johansen is Miss Castle Dale, and Shelby Huntington is Castle Dale's Junior Miss.

The Miss Castle Dale pageant was held June 2 in the Emery High School auditorium. Castle Dale Mayor Neal Peacock introduced the emcee for the evening Ben Killpack. Killpack noted that Miss Emery Shala Pitchforth would be his co-emcee.

For the opening performance, all of the contestants, a total of 10, performed a dance routine. Contestants in the Little Miss division were Taran White, Holly Jacobson and Savannah Woolsey. In the Junior Miss division, the contestants were Devyn Mann, Jessica Labrum, Kara Cox and Shelby Huntington. Vying for Miss Castle Dale were Ashlin White, Kristine Johansen and Jacqueline Rogers.

Following the opening number by the contestants, Danielle Tuttle's dance group from One Step Above, performed a dance routine to "Walking on Sunshine."

The Little Miss talent competition began with Taran White performing a ballet. Holly Jacobson and Savannah Woolsey also performed dance numbers. In the Junior Miss competition, all the contestants performed dance routines. Ashlin White sang and recited a number, Kristine Johansen performed a ballet, and Jacqueline Rogers played a piano solo.

Miss Emery Shala Pitchforth sang for the audience while the contestants prepared for the evening gown and question portion of the competition. The contestants were escorted on stage by their fathers or brothers to answer the question from Pitchforth. Each young lady was asked, "If you went to Hawaii, what would you do?"

A 10 minute intermission was held while the judges votes were tallied. Judges for the competition were Natalie Blackwell, Jamie Hollingworth and Jessie Ward. The contestants gave appreciation awards to the pageant chairpersons, Angela Huntington and Tera Pickett.

The first award given for the evening was Miss Congeniality. This award went to Devyn Mann. Savannah Woolsey was crowned Little Miss Castle Dale. Shelby Huntington was crowned Castle Dale's Junior Miss. Kristine Johansen was crowned Miss Castle Dale and will compete in the Miss Emery Pageant on July 21.
