My name is Brenda Dugmore and I am running for the office of clerk/auditor. I am a native of Ferron and have been working as the clerk/auditor since April, and was the senior deputy clerk/auditor for the past nine years.
I also spent three years as an independent auditor of other counties, school districts and government entities. I am a licensed certified public accountant. I graduated from Southern Utah University with a master's degree in accounting and a minor in business management.
The job of clerk/auditor is complex with a wide range of responsibilities including creating, implementing and overseeing a large budget, payroll for 200 employees, accounts payable for all county departments, minutes of commission meetings and all aspects of overseeing and running county elections. I have all of the skills and specialized government accounting training necessary to be the clerk/auditor and the need to hire additional staff would be eliminated.
The county has operated on a balanced budget for many years and has been financially responsible. I will continue to work towards keeping the county financially sound.
If elected clerk/auditor, I will continue to be dedicated to the job. Our office will continue to serve the public in a professional manner. I would appreciate your support and vote on Nov. 7.
