March 10, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring the family out for a fun day at the Recreation Center in Castle Dale. We will have a rope bridge, food, fun and activities for boys and girls. We will be selling tickets for door prizes. You must be present to win a door prize. To buy a ticket, find a Cub Scout in your neighborhood. The district will have a pinewood derby race that includes the top three finishers for each pack in the disctict.

Businesses are invited to have a booth for advertising or provide a fun activity for any scout age boy or family. The district has purchased items to be given away for door prizes, but donations would be gladly accepted to add to these.All scouts who are selling tickets, need to have the ticket stubs, unsold tickets and money turned in by March 3.Ferron Stake can turn in tickets and money to Gaylene Conder (384-2470). The San Rafael Back Country Horseman February meeting will be held on Feb. 21, at the old Cleveland City Hall starting at 6:30 p.m. The building is across the street from the school. We will be discussing the plans for the upcoming year. We have a number of projects proposed as well as some interesting rides planned. Some projects being discussed include mapping the trails in Black Canyon, developing a booklet on the ten best trails in Carbon and Emery County, and trail maintenance. Some rides that are planned include a February ride into Chute Canyon, and a ride in Range Creek.

A Millsite Dam Rehabilitation Public Scoping Meeting will be at Ferron City Hall on Feb. 21. An open house will be held from 5-6 p.m. A presentation, discussion and an opportunity to submit comments will be held from 6-7:30 p.m.

The Emery High School Cheerleaders Spring Show will be held on March 6 at 7 p.m. at the Spartan Center. There will be a $2 admission charge.

A field service officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be at the Price Workforce Service Center on Feb. 22 and March 22 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. This is a free service to assist veterans, widows and dependents in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits.

An Al-Anon meeting for families and friends of alcoholics will be held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Ferron City Hall building, 15 South State, Ferron.

The Huntington City 2007 dog licenses are now due. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented before license can be issued. Deadline for dog licenses is March 1. Dog licenses may be purchased at the Huntington City Hall or at the rabies clinic which will be held at the Huntington City Fire Station on Feb. 24 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Dr. Jensen will be the vet.

Orangeville dog licenses are due for 2007. The cost is $8 for spayed or neutered dogs and $25 for non-altered dogs. Please bring in current rabies information when licensing your dog. All dogs must be registered by March 1, afterwards an additional late fee will be charged of $25. A rabies clinic will be held on Feb. 10 at the new fire station from 10 a.m.- 12 noon.
