A benefit will be held for Cade Jones on June 7 at 5 p.m. at Canyon View Junior High. Dinner, bazaar, bake sale, auction, and raffle. Donations can be made at UP&L Credit Union in his name. Donations to the bake sale or auction can be taken to the school on the day of the benefit.

Castle Dale City is looking for girls ages 4-21 to be contestants in the Miss Castle Dale Pageant. Contestants must live in Castle Dale. Each contestant will be judged on appearance, talent and interview. Winners will receive cash prizes, crowns and a bouquet. The pageant will be held June 22 and the registration deadline is June 4. The pageant will be held at Emery High auditorium. For more information call Jeanette at 381-5558. Winners will be expected to participate in parades and city celebrations.

The Fourth Annual Canyon River Runners Art Show will be held during June. Artwork may be brought to the Museum before May 28, at 7 p.m. On June 30 the Museum is hosting Shirley Venus Day. from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be a silent auction, a painting presentation, and the Nine Mile Players will play until 2 p.m. in Shirley's honor. KUED's Aftermath of Meth will be airing on May 30 at 8 p.m. It is a hard hitting probe of the drug that is devastating many small, rural communities in the West.

American Legion Auxiliary #42 of Ferron is looking for addresses from people of Emery County that have love ones proudly serving our country in a war zone such as Iraq and Afghanistan. We have a program started three years ago called Operation Home Support which we send packages to soldiers, but we need help from Emery County residents with the names and addresses of your loved ones that are serving. They need a package from Operation Home Support to let them know they aren't forgotten and that we care and support them. Retreat for Girls is for girls LDS girls ages 12-15, 11 year olds can come upon request. The program is held at Utah State University on June 25-29. The Huntington Slam Sand Volleyball Tournament will be held at Huntington State Park on June 2. It's time to sign up for the Castle Valley Pageant to be held on Aug. 2-4 and 7-11. Families are encouraged to sign up together. Priority may be given when parents are participating.
