A free family night will be held on Sept. 12 from 5:30- 8:30 p.m. at Emery High School. Session for parents will be: what not to do when parenting teens, taking stress out of discipline, drug and alcohol identification, internet safety and homework help for parents. Sessions for youth will be dating 101, math fun and games, substance prevention and how to get what you want: manipulating parents. Free daycare will be provided. There will be booths, activities and dinner.

Green River EMTs are holding their annual raffle to help raise funds for EMT related expenses. There will be three winners drawn at Melon Days festivities, and each will get a $100 MasterCard gift certificate. Tickets will be available from any Green River EMT until the drawing. The cost is $1 each or six tickets for $5. Please find an EMT and thank them for their service. And when you see a Green River EMT buy some tickets.
President Bush declared a major disaster in Utah on Aug 21. As a result agriculture producers are eligible for Farm Service Agency emergency loans.
