Festive Friday in October will be held Oct. 17 at noon in the county building on the second floor. Cost is $2 for lunch and printouts. For more information contact the Extension Service at 381-2381.

Ferron Library appreciates all the patrons that enjoyed our Native American display this month. Owen Olsen exhibited his handmade arrows, arrowheads, drum, hatchet and club. Tammy Lacock let us borrow her Native American dolls for the month. Come check out the Ferron Library.
The 10th annual domestic violence awareness luncheon will be held Oct. 15 at noon in the county building on the second floor. The guest speaker will be licensed clinical social worker Jackie Graham and the topic will be developing violence free families. The lunch and program are free, everyone is welcome and there will be doorprizes.
Full moon hike: What happens in the Valley of the Goblins during a full moon? Do animals change their behavior? Join park staff on a walk through the goblins to find out. Meet at 8:30 p.m. at the Observation Point above the Valley of the Goblins. (435) 564-3633
Park - Green River Bats. Bats aren't creepy, crawly pests. They are fascinating animals that play a big role in Goblin Valley's ecosystem. Join park staff at 8 p.m. at the amphitheater to learn about these misunderstood critters. We'll use the bat detector box to see who's flying around. (435)-564-3633
Anyone wishing to donate a craft, quilt, baby quilt or any other item to be sold at the Festival of Trees gift shop should contact Barbra Jones at 687-2580 for more information. Items needed by Oct. 31.
Oct. 31 will be the last limb pick-up until the spring clean-up. Dumpsters will be at the rodeo grounds, do not place anything on the ground. The Emery County Landfill is requesting these items not be placed in the dumpsters: tires batteries oil no liquid of any type such as paint, turpentine, etc., pesticides, cement, refrigerators. A $12,000 fine could be imposed for violation of these guidlines.
Sept. 20 through Oct 19. Burn permits are required. You may pick one up at the City Hall.
The Cleveland Town fall burn season is from Sept. 20 to Oct. 19. Permits availabe at the Town Office 100 W. main. Everyone must obtain a permit prior to burning.
The College of Eastern Utah Prehisoric Museum announces their upcoming enhibition, "Picture This." The exhibition will consist of images submitted by local amateur photographers. The museum will be accepting submissions now through Sept. 30, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visit the museum website at museum.ceu.edu for more details.
