Flu vaccines open to the general public now

Southeastern Utah District Health Department has worked hard to provide H1N1 vaccine to CDC priority groups with the limited allotments of vaccine they've received.

Currently there's enough vaccine to officially start giving vaccine to the general public.

H1N1 vaccine will be available during regular clinic hours at each of the offices within the four counties SEUDHD serves. SEUDHD also has limited amounts of seasonal flu vaccine available.

If you have ever had the flu, you know it can knock you out - with members of your family, friends, and co-workers not far behind.

So how can you protect yourself, especially this flu season with two influenzas circulating?

Getting vaccinated against seasonal flu and 2009 H1N1 flu is your best defense. If you can't stand needles, no worries. The H1N1 flu vaccine comes in a nasal spray.

Contact your local health department for immunization clinic hours.
