James C. Peacock "Jim"

James C. (Jim) Peacock, 53, passed away peacefully Jan. 21, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 7, 1956, to J. James and Barbara Olsen Peacock. He married Kelly Bea Bradley Sept. 6, 1980. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Las Vegas LDS Temple Nov. 13, 1993. Kelly passed away on Oct.8, 2009. James and Kelly were loving parents of their son, James Daniel (JD).

James cherished the many family traditions and was beloved by all of his extended family. James loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His elaborate stories will be remembered forever. Many of his "pranks" will be legendary. He loved sports of all kinds, especially watching his son, JD, play baseball and football. He and Kelly were always JD's biggest fans.

James lived in Orangeville, Emery County, until he was 14 years old after which the family moved to the East Midvale area. James graduated from Hillcrest High School where he participated in athletics and music. He was a journeyman electrician, spending most of his career with GSL Electric.

James was very active in the LDS Church holding numerous positions including Bishop and many years of service on the High Council.

James is survived by his son, parents, and siblings, Jan Hanson (Jae), Sharon McCully, Carol Peacock (Craig), Lee (Cathy), Scot (Jen) and Kelly's brothers and sister.

A viewing was held Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 from 5-7 p.m., at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley located at 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) with funeral services being held on Jan. 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Midvale East Sixth Ward, 7250 South 300 East. A viewing was also held at the church prior to the funeral services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Graveside services will be held in the Orangeville City Cemetery on Wednesday Jan. 27, 2010 at 12 noon.
