The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) - Price Field Office examined and
found suitable for classification and conveyance to Emery County under
the provisions of the Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Act, as
amended, a parcel of public land in Emery County, Utah. Emery County
proposes to expand their existing County landfill located
approximately three miles north of Castle Dale, in Emery County, Utah,
and containing approximately 160 acres.

A notice of realty action has been published in the Federal Register
for the Emery County landfill. The BLM Price Field Office welcomes
comments on the proposed classification and conveyance of Federal land
to Emery County and asks that submitted comments be as specific as
possible. Additional information about this project, including the
potential impacts of conveyance is included within an Environmental
Assessment, which is also available for public review and comment. An
electronic copy of the Environmental Assessment

upon request from the Price Field Office. Comments which contain only
opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response; however,
they will be considered in the BLM decision-making process. The most
useful comments are those that contain new technical or scientific
information, identify issues relevant to the proposal, identify
alternatives, or provide technical or scientific rationale for
